On Sep. 2nd, FIREMAN organized a successful Special Session on Communication and Networking Algorithms for Cyber-Physical Systems in Industry 4.0, co-located with the IEEE International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications (PIMRC '20).
A keynote speech given by Majid Butt (Nokia Bell Labs) and four technical contributions were presented. Detailed information can be found here.
The FIREMAN organizers have already started the discussion of having a subsequent 2nd version in the context of the forthcoming PIMRC '21 in Helsinki, Finland, next year.

FIREMAN project coordinator, Prof. Pedro Nardelli, and principal investigator, Prof. Hirley Alves, delivered a tutorial in the 3rd IEEE International Conference on Industrial Cyber-Physical Systems (http://icps2020.fi/), virtually held on 10 June 2020.
The tutorial was entitled “Machine-type communication in 5G and its application to build the energy Internet” and followed the recently published paper: P. H. J. Nardelli, H. Alves et al., "Energy Internet via Packetized Management: Enabling Technologies and Deployment Challenges," in IEEE Access, 2019 (https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/abstract/document/8629864).

FIREMAN consortium will participate in the forthcoming CHIST-ERA Projects Seminar organized in Prague on the 21-22 of April 2020. The seminar brings together researchers involved in the ongoing CHIST-ERA funded projects and representatives of the research funding organizations. In the context of the seminar, a F2F project meeting will be held on 20th of April.
